Romany Interpreting & Translations Ltd. was established in 2014 as a UK-based self-employed business led solely by Mr. Angel L. Ivanov, our Founder, Company Director and In-house Interpreter, Transcriber and Translator in Romany and Bulgarian languages. In 2022, the business evolved into a partnership, and by 2023, Mr. Ivanov transitioned it into a UK Limited Company.

Over the years, we have undertaken a multitude of interpreting, transcribing, and translation assignments for various private and public clients. Our projects have spanned partnerships with numerous businesses, private individuals, government bodies and agencies across Europe, the UK, USA, Canada, and Australia.

We work with two different types of linguists: qualified, highly experienced professionals with a proven track record and membership in professional bodies regulating the quality of their work, and unqualified, but experienced linguists. The first type is more expensive and offers precise, prompt and punctual services to excellent work standards. Conversely, the latter type is more cost-effective and delivers work to a good standard. We are prepared to provide you with the type of linguists that aligns best with your specific needs and preferences.

Mr. Ivanov is a native speaker and a professional with a proven track record of over 10 years of work experience as an interpreter, transcriber, and translator in Romany and Bulgarian languages. He specialises in Bulgarian and Romany languages with a focus on all Romany dialects from across Europe, Americas, Canada, Australia, and the UK, among others. Additionally, Mr. Ivanov has a good command of Serbian, Bosnian, Croatian, and Macedonian languages and has provided services in these languages as well.

As an independent supplier of interpreting and translation services, Mr. Ivanov caters to a wide range of clients, including UK-based and foreign courts, probation offices, police forces, social services, and local councils. His expertise in Romany and Bulgarian languages, coupled with his extensive experience of over 10 years in the field, makes him a valuable asset for clients seeking high-quality language services for various legal, medical, and governmental purposes.

In 2023, our Company Director achieved Chartered Linguist status in Romany and Bulgarian languages with membership number 72263 from the Chartered Institute of Linguists (CIOL). Additionally, Angel became an Accredited Member of the National Register of Public Service Interpreters (NRPSI) with registration number 17636, and an Accredited Member of the National Register of Public Service Translators (NRPTI) with registration number 90085. In 2024, Angel attained associate membership with the American Translators Association (ATA) with membership number 280370. Angel's security clearances and academic qualifications include a Non-police Personnel Vetting (NPPV3) Security Clearance, an Enhanced Criminal Record Check Certificate from the Disclosure and Barring Service (EDBS), a MA degree in Human Rights Law from the University of Essex, UK, and a BA degree in Primary School Education focusing on Romany and Bulgarian Languages from the University of Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria.
